China Vanke has remitted $612.6mn to the overseas bank account of its offshore unit to repay its maturing dollar note, according to an exchange filing. The notes in question are its 4.2% 2024s maturing on June 7. In early March, there were concerns that the notes might not be paid due to reports suggesting that the developer was facing debt struggles and was in negotiations with lenders to delay payments. However, ever since then, the company has repaid its dollar bond that matured in March, besides also readying funds in time for the notes maturing tomorrow.
Vanke’s 4.2% 2024s are trading at near par.
