- 2021 was an eventful year for the bond markets with heightened volatility, especially in the second half of the year when the Chinese property developers’ crisis broke out. Before we go off for the holidays, we have put together a report of the year gone by to give our readers intelligence on major events, issuance volumes, largest deals and the top gainers and losers. Growth & Activity on the BondbloX Exchange
The number of bonds listed on the BondbloX Exchange grew from 2 at the start of the year to 27. Click here to see the currently listed bonds. There were 33 coupons paid out in 2021 and 1 bond redemption.
New Members on BBX from Around the World

Members on the Exchange grew from 2 to 9 over the course of the year. The new members are headquartered in Hong Kong, Indonesia, United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates in addition to Singapore. |

MOUs & Partnerships

BondEvalue has signed a MoU with FinIQ to offer direct and seamless access to fractional bonds listed on BondbloX Bond Exchange to the banks and financial institutions using FinIQ. FinIQ is a Singapore-based capital markets technology provider. Established in 2001, FinIQ today caters to order management, best execution, compliance, suitability, documentation, valuation and post-trade life cycle requirements of over 40 financial institutions. |

BondEvalue has signed a MoU with Finalto which is the financial division of Playtech PLC, a global and well established business traded on London Stock Exchange’s Main Market and a constituent of the FTSE 250 index. They are market leaders in next-generation multi-channel trading software, systems and liquidity services which are offered in a B2B capacity to their global partner network.

BondEvalue has signed a MoU with Stockal, a New York-headquartered digital investing platform that powers some of the largest brokerage firms, wealth management companies, robo-advisors and fintech platforms in India and the Middle East.

ION Markets released a new gateway for straight-through processing (STP) for the BondbloX Bond Exchange. They are building the connectivity solution for BondbloX incrementally and plan to enhance the STP gateway to include market data and order management next year based on client needs. |
Citi Appointed as Custodian |

BondEvalue has appointed Citi alongside Northern Trust Corporation to join the BondbloX Bond Exchange as an asset servicing provider, effective March 2021. Citi as a custodian for BondbloX now facilitates transfer of SGD cash for the Exchange via the FAST network. |

Citi and Mass Mutual Ventures were the lead investors in BondEvalue’s Series A funding round earlier this year and were both appointed to the Board of Directors. |

Forbes Asia 100 to WatchBondEvalue has been named under the ‘Forbes Asia 100 to Watch’ list for making bonds more widely accessible to individual investors with the BondbloX Bond Exchange, the world’s first fractional bond exchange that allows trading in minimum denominations of $1,000. BondbloX is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and has secured $6 million in its series A funding round led by MassMutual Ventures and Citigroup. |

UBS Future of Finance Challenge 2021BondEvalue emerged as the winner of the UBS Future of Finance Challenge 2021 (Reimagining Investing) out of 400 applicants presenting Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, and other solutions.

SFF Global FinTech Awards 2021BondEvalue was chosen as a top 10 finalist amongst Singapore financial institutions for the SFF Global Fintech Awards.

BondEvalue – An IBF Recognized Training ProviderBondEvalue conducted an in-person bond training course this year with a 2-day class on Advanced Theory & Practice of Bonds. This course is recognized by the Institute of Banking & Finance (IBF) under the Financial Training Scheme (FTS). Our first course for 2022 will be on 23-24 February.
