September 2025 has been a standout month in the primary bond market, with a surge in dollar bond issuances across sovereigns, corporates, and financial institutions. The deluge in issuance in September comes after a dry spell in August. Strong investor demand was evident as seen in several order books and the subsequent rally in bond prices post-issuance. The rally in bonds is also likely fueled by expectations of an imminent Fed rate cut in September and markets pricing-in nearly 70bp in rate cuts by year-end. Investors who subscribed to these new issues have already seen meaningful capital gains within weeks.
