In 2025, the European Central Bank has adjusted its policy interest rates lower by 100bp till date. The Deposit Facility Rate now stands at 2.0% and the Main Refinancing Rate at 2.15%. This has continued to set the tone for favorable funding conditions across European markets. Alongside this backdrop, several corporates, banks and sovereigns have issued EUR-denominated bonds this year. Of particular interest to private investors are Additional Tier 1 (AT1) bonds that typically provide a yield pick-up relative to traditional senior debt. European banks have continued issuing such AT1 bonds in 2025.
