LATAM Airlines said that it plans to invest $2bn in Brazil over the next two years. The airline said that the investment would be focused on products, technologies and services for passengers and aircraft maintenance. This comes after the Chilean carrier emerged out of bankruptcy last year, and in recent times, has seen upgrades by rating agencies. For instance S&P upgraded them to B+ in March and Moody’s lifted its ratings to Ba3. Separately, LATAM Airlines is in advanced talks with Brazilian plane-maker Embraer to add aircraft to its fleet.
LATAM Airlines’ 13.375% 2027s are trading at 110.6, yielding 9.1%.
