JSW Energy has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy will acquire a portfolio of 1.75 GW of renewable energy generation capacity from Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt Ltd, constituting of 17 SPVs and 1 ancillary SPV. After adjusting for net current assets, the transaction is valued at an enterprise valuation of INR 105.3bn ($1.3bn) for Mytrah Energy. The Mytrah Portfolio consists of 10 wind SPVs with a generation capacity of 1.33 GW and 7 Solar SPVs with a generation capacity of 422 MW, operating mainly in the central, western, and southern regions of India. The assets have long-term PPA (power purchase agreements) with an average remaining life of around 18 years. This is its largest acquisition by JSW Energy since its inception, and will increase its operational generation capacity by over 35% to 6.5 GW. With another 2.5 GW of wind and hydro projects under construction and expected to be commissioned in the next 18-24 months, JSW Energy’s platform capacity will be enhanced to around 9.1 GW, increasing its renewable share to 65%. JSW Energy has set a target to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The company has aims to reach 20 GW generation capacity by 2030, with 85% share of renewable energy.
JSW Energy’s 4.125% 2031s were down 0.1 points to 85, yielding 6.38%.
