Braskem’s dollar bonds fell sharply on Thursday after reports surfaced that veteran Brazilian investor Nelson Tanure was in early talks with banks to acquire a controlling stake in the petrochemical firm. Tanure, known for investing in distressed assets, is reportedly eyeing Novonor’s stake in Braskem after previous deals failed to materialize. Analysts note that the potential transaction has raised concerns, noting that investors may not be comfortable with the prospect of a deal with a restructuring-focused buyer.
Braskem’s 8.5% 2031s fell by 3 points to 90.18, yielding 10.89%.
