AMC Entertainment’s bonds rose by over 2-3 points and its shares rallied by 12.5%. The development came after the company achieved its highest-ever holiday weekend revenue for admissions and concessions during the Easter period from April 1–5. Over 6 million moviegoers visited AMC and Odeon cinemas, driven primarily by the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie that grossed over $370mn at the box office. Additional contributions to the record-breaking weekend came from its new releases such as The Drama, and momentum from Project Hail Mary. Its CEO Adam Aron attributed the success to a “compelling and diverse slate of films”.
AMC’s 7.5% 2029s were up by 3 points to trade at 76.1, yielding 18.7%.
